Esomeprazole 40mg injection is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used for short-term treatment (up to 10 days) of severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with erosive esophagitis. It reduces stomach acid to treat acid-related diseases, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and prevents rebleeding in gastric or duodenal ulcers following endoscopy.
